Nail art nail-somely puts the fun in fashion!

Nail art has cleverly ‘nailed it’ in as the most hottest trend in the current fashion scene. Almost everyone is sporting outrageously painted nails in psychedelic colors or patterned motifs! While we thought clothes made a huge impact, this teeny trend has scored huge. Today everyone remembers Zoe Deschanel’s cute tuxedo nails at the Golden Globes,  but looking back the actress (as a matter of fact) gave a new height to the already growing with popularity- nail art (well popularity among bloggers esp). Yes, bloggers can rightfully be counted in as the one’s who magnified this minute art. Although, honestly I have not given this funky trend a go … yet ! I for sure have fallen in love with a couple of bloggers who work those nails (like a bauss)! And to single out a recent personal fave – ‘Miss Ladyfinger’ – the name itself seems to give a humorous wiggle to it, non?! And I love the fact that she takes inspiration from the fashion week outfits! Transforming clothes on bodies into paint on nails! (Check out more of her work here)The recent New York Fashion week shared with us some ‘nail-some’ exhibits such as that of Behnaz Sarafpours super hard metallic nails to Kate Spades spotty delightful’s!

Ah well, to pen off this post I’ve got to share one last piece and add to this never-seem-to-end obsession – A perfectly manicured pair of hands and a bit of creativity can do so much more! So proves Chanel’s video – a perfectly choreographed creative conceptual video that somehow seems to touch the inner imaginative child within us. Don’t you think so?

Hope you enjoyed this one! Till next time! bise!

~ Simple Grace ~

Hello all Famushu readers :-D I’m excited to write this post and share a recent work with you. I have been quite preoccupied with painting and writing that I haven’t been able to update Famushu with the most recent fashion happenings! Forgive me dears, but I will surely post about the latest fashion weeks and trends very soon! Alors, moving on, this post is about the first painting (three in fact) that I made for a client (My Clinic) in Male’ Maldives this month of Feb. It’s acrylic on canvas and it’s titled “Simple Grace”. To be honest, I was very nervous and equally excited to do it, as I have not done any painting specifically for an interior before. I must thank MyClinic for that wonderful opportunity as well since it was enjoyable working with them. Goldfish swimming in a pond came across as a soothing concept to me and which I believe can help to create a calming effect on anybody.  I’m pretty sure that customers young and old sitting at a clinic would not want to see a dark and grim painting that might remind them of a dentist from hell perhaps?! Well, most of all, I was just pleased to know that my client was satisfied with my work.

Enjoy the pictures!

xoxo

PS: A big thank you to dear fraath, for the lovely pictures! ^.^

Spread Peace and Love ~ Wassup’s article for Feb

While Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, the mood to celebrate it with chocolates and roses seems to have almost disappeared with the ongoing protests in Maldives. I couldn’t help but post about it here on Famushu, and share my concern for our country.

“…In times like these when nights and days are filled with cries of angry protestors and crazy whirring police sirens, don’t we all look forward to a sunnier and happier side to Maldives where everyone gets along and there is love rather than hatred?” ~ quoting from the article I’ve contributed to this month’s Wassup issue.

Just don’t stop believing in positivity, I’m sure it sounds quite unreal at the moment, but there is always hope at the end of the tunnel ~ we just have to believe in the good.

xoxo
