Jumpsuits and Chokers

It has been a while since I last updated everyone with an outfit post! So here I am, once again, wearing a concoction of different brands (or my own).

Work wear is always tricky to pull off regardless of gender. Here in the Maldives, it is quite a task, because for one thing it is always hot sticky weather all year round (or an unsuspecting downpour that is sure to ruin your suede shoes or perfect makeup). I believe keeping your work wardrobe exciting is necessary in order to exude the right energy when at work because good clothing can help to make you feel good which results in better or quality work.

As women we are lucky to have an ample choice when it comes to clothes and accessories. That said, we do run out of them and end up not being able to decide what to wear! A top paired with pants or a skirt is what most people wear to work here, suits or blazers are rarely worn unless required for a function.

Have you given jumpsuits a try though? They are actually a fun and practical style to work. It’s just one piece of clothing which can be extremely helpful when you run out of options and time!

Here I am wearing an ASOS jumpsuit with a wrap detail at the front. The black jumpsuit is actually very appropriate to any formal or semi-formal occasion with it’s suit collar and pocket detail. Here, I have accessorized with two different kinds of chokers from ASOS, a black velvet band and a fine gold choker with a drop pendant. Chokers are perhaps the only necklace everyone is wearing these days! It is all about the 90’s currently and chokers are affordable and can beautifully enhance the neck. I’ve finished off the look with Blink’s pointed suede shoes; this style gives the impression of height which is so useful for any petite girl (And these are quite comfortable as well!)

Jumpsuits can come in different styles, buttoned up or with culotte pants. Do try them and let us know what you think! 🙂
